Olivia Schafer has always been an Ohio State synchronized swimming buckeye. Her mother was a member of Ohio State’s synchronized swim team and was also a member of the US Senior National Team. This inspired Schafer and prior to her collegiate career she trained with the Carolina Synchro Club for 7 years under her mother. After, Olivia trained with the Santa Clara Aquamaids for 2 years prior to her start at Ohio State.

Schafer had a tremendous freshman year, winning OSU Scholar-Athlete. Her solo placed second at two meets and third at another, helping the Buckeyes to an undefeated regular season. On top of being a full time athlete, Schafer has high expectations for her academic career, as she hopes to attend law school or graduate school after her time at Ohio State.

Her success carried into her sophomore season where she won first in the trio at the OSU Small Routine Invitational. Her achievements throughout the 2021 season continued as she aided her team to a 2nd place finish in the team final as well as competing in the solo at the US Collegiate Championships. We cannot wait to continue to watch Olivia grow into an outstanding athlete and student.
