Daniel Cook

HONORARIUM ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

SCHOOL: ST. JOHN FISHER UNIVERSITY

SPORT: MEN’S BASKETBALL

DIVISION: 3

CONFERENCE: EMPIRE 8 ATHLETIC CONFERENCE

YEAR: JUNIOR

Daniel is an athlete of dedication and perseverance. Prior to his time at St. John Fisher, Cook played at Hobart College, where he averaged over 9 points and 5 rebounds per game. He then transferred to St. John Fisher where he really began to exceed on the court.

Cook’s first season as a Cardinal, he had a remarkable season. The Empire 8 Player of the Year, led the conference in points and rebounds with 21.5 and 10.9 respectively. The forward was also voted as First-Team All-Conference and All-Region. His first year dominance also led to a career high of 38 points in a single game, and 10 double doubles in 13 starts.

In the 2021-2022 season, Cook won The Empire 8 Player of the Year again, as well as  First-Team All-Conference. He also added nearly 10 points to his career high, where he had 47 points in one game. The junior marketing major has continued to improve year in and year out, and we look forward to seeing what he does this year when he takes the court.
